4 Powerful Ways to Create Confidence

By DeAndrea Douglas

We can all agree that being more confident is something we all wouldn’t mind. Creating confidence is something that people can think is impossible, but I know it absolutely is not. It might be difficult, but not impossible. If you are struggling right now and you don’t think that you will ever feel confident again, then you’re in the right place to get the help that you need. I’m detailing some of the things that you can do to create more confidence in your life.

Learn Some Confidence Affirmations

The first thing that I recommend is that you practice some confidence affirmations. To some people, this is going to sound silly because they don’t believe that affirmations hold any power. However, we all know how powerful words can be if we let them under our skin, and the same goes for positive words. It doesn’t have to be negative words that have such an impact on you, it can be the positives too.

When things start to go wrong, when you start to feel bad about yourself, or when you generally start to struggle, repeat some of these affirmations to yourself. You will feel much better by the time you have done so, calming down and feeling good about yourself again.

Change What You Don’t Like

If there are things that you don’t like about yourself, there is nothing stopping you from changing them. I know that this can sometimes be a little tricky to maneuver, but you can do it if you truly want to. For example, if your weight is bothering you, you can either learn how to lose or put on weight depending on what your goal is. Or, if you are feeling conscious about your teeth then perhaps searching for “dentist near me” is a good idea so that you can speak to a professional and come up with a treatment plan.

Once you have sorted the things that are making you feel self-conscious, you should feel so much better in your own skin. I should note that none of this is going to happen overnight. Getting straight, white, healthy teeth takes a long treatment plan and daily hygiene care. I’m also not encouraging extreme procedures to help you feel better about yourself. There are countless stories of people who have regretted procedures that are irreversible so while I take a to-each-their-own stance when it comes to cosmetic surgery, I think you should think long and hard about why you might want it.

Surround Yourself With The Right People

Another thing you should do to boost your confidence is to surround yourself with the right people. Confidence has a lot to do with how you see yourself, and if you have surrounded yourself with those who only have negative things to say, or those who are constantly making little comments to try and damage your confidence, this isn’t going to work. You need people who support you and want you to feel good about yourself. Nothing less is acceptable.

Keep Your Promises

This is the last tip, but probably the most important. To be more confident you have to keep the promises you make to yourself. Confidence can be described as having a great reputation with yourself. When you know that you can trust yourself to do the things you say you’re going to do no matter what they are, you won’t be concerned about what other people think about you. If you’re constantly worried about what other people think about you, you probably don’t think great things about yourself. And you probably don’t think great things about yourself because you lack self-confidence, and you don’t have self-confidence because you keep breaking the promises you made to yourself. Greater confidence comes from consistently doing the things you told yourself you would do leading to a higher level of self-trust.

You have to make it a habit to do the things that will build your confidence muscle. If you keep showing up for yourself you can’t help but become more confident. At the end of the day, the only person who is going to be able to control your confidence is you, and you need to start doing this as soon as possible.
