Finding the perfect home decor and furniture to elevate your home can be both exciting and overwhelming. I’ve been having a time very thoughtfully sourcing pieces for my home. I want pieces that not only fit the space we have now but will hopefully make the move with us should we get a larger space one day. It’s been far from easy. I’ve had to constantly remind myself that I want sturdier pieces that will last a while instead of just furnishing the place as fast as I can.
Having to be patient and learn about the best ways to design and decorate my house has been a blessing in disguise. I haven’t spent a ton of money on pieces that ultimately won’t work and I’ve had plenty of time to think through a bunch of options for each room. I’ve chosen a few pieces that we’ve needed to function or that I found an amazing deal on after mulling them over for months, but we still have a long way to go before I’ll feel anywhere close to finished.

These shops offer a mix of modern style, quality, and unique finds that will help you create a space that feels truly yours.
High End Finds
CB2
If you’re ready to spend some coins, CB2 is the perfect place to find trendy, cool, and uniquely shaped pieces. We bought our flatware here and it’s also a great place to find decor, mirrors, and lighting. If you like contemporary pieces this is the place for you.
West Elm
If your vibe is more modern than contemporary you’ll love West Elm. Their light fixtures are top-tier and very unique. It’s also a pretty popular place to buy a sofa.
Quince
I love buying from Quince! I’ve only bought clothes and towels so far, but literally nothing has disappointed me in the slightest. I fully trust that their home goods are going to give me luxury without making me cry over my credit card statement. They just came out with a leather sofa that I think is cute and I have my eye on a rug for the living room. It’s a great place to get bedding, towels, and even stainless steel cookware for a steal!
Staple Pieces
Thuma
We bought the classic bedframe from Thuma a couple of years before we decided to buy a house and it’s the studiest piece of furniture we currently own. Now that our bedroom is bigger we’re looking to get a king-size and replace our dressers with Thuma dressers and possibly a Credenzda. And I’m considering shelving to put by the front and back doors for our shoes. We’ll probably end up getting more staple pieces here too since they’re made from solid wood and will stand the test of time. If they make a table that will work in my dining room I can almost guarantee I’ll buy it.
Wayfair
I love how you can always snag a good deal on Wayfair. I’ve ordered quite a few things from there over the years and currently have my eye on some drawer pulls to jazz up our bathroom and kitchen. It’s a good place to find a wide variety of trendy pieces, light fixtures, and accent chairs. The best part is that they have sales frequently so if you’re patient you’ll never pay retail for something you want.
IKEA
Don’t sleep on IKEA! They have lots of gems at even better prices. One day, we’ll customize our closet with the PAX system but until then I’ll visit their aisles for storage solutions and home decor. I don’t expect any of the items to last for more than a decade but for the price, I’m not mad at that.

HomeGoods
HomeGoods is a go-to place for unique table and shelving decor. You just have to be ready to hunt for it and go home empty-handed a few times. Sometimes you’ll love everything you see and other times you’ll hate it all. It’s a good place to find faux plants, lamps, soaps, candles, and mirrors.
Target
Target is a great place to find affordable vases, shelf decor, throw blankets, and pillows. I also love the white linen duvet cover we have from their Casaluna line. The Threshold line is also one of my favorites for transitional decor.
Amazon
Amazon always has a pleasant surprise for me. It’s the only place I’ve grabbed coffee table books and is also good for trinkets and other decorative pieces. I’ve heard great things about their accent chairs too.
Etsy
Etsy is the place to go for all of your custom, one-of-a-kind pieces. It’s great for wall art and other decor and anything that you want handmade. You can also find amazing furniture on the site too.
