There is something so special about getting a new fragrance. It’s like capturing a moment, emotion, or feeling and bottling it up to bring yourself back to it whenever you smell it again.
I’ve taken to expanding my fragrance collection beyond my trusty Ralph Lauren Romance and sample sizes of many scents that caught my attention. I like the idea of having a lot of different perfume options every day so I can choose based on my mood, how I want to feel, the season, or the weather. Pretty much like how we choose our outfits for each day.
I recently added six new fragrances to my collection for spring and I’m already loving them. Let’s review!
The Dua Brand Heaven’s Moonlight
This is supposed to be a dupe of Kilian’s Moonlight in Heaven, and I’d say it’s about 85% of the way there. I love Moonlight in Heaven! I have a discovery set size of this, and it’s almost gone. I wanted to make sure I had something like the scent for spring, but I wasn’t quite ready to splurge on the real deal. I’m working on building up my whole collection, remember?
Heaven’s Moonlight captures the vibe of its Kilian inspiration, but they aren’t exactly the same. The Kilian fragrance is smoother overall, but The Dua Brand didn’t do a terrible job. Neither one of these are overtly feminine scents. It’s not immedately sweet and fruity. I smell creamy coconut pretty heavily in the Dua Brand with notes of grapfruit, lemon, and a hint of musk.
To be fair, most dupe fragrance houses pump out fragrances rapid-fire fire so they haven’t had time to macerate and let the notes settle. I’m guessing that’s what’s happening here, so I’m going to let it sit for a few months and see how I feel about it later.

The Dua Brand Euphony of Bamboo
Euphony of Bamboo is supposed to be a dupe of Kilian’s Bamboo Harmony, but I immedately smelled soap. It’s meant to be a fresh scent, but soap is a bit too fresh for my taste. After letting it sit with the cap off for about a week, I still smell soap at the opening, but it pretty quickly dissapates.
Bamboo Harmony is very green and citrusy up top, but it’s balanced out by an aromatic, powdery scent and floral notes. It also has a bit of a woody base. Euphony of Bamboo gets the woodiness of it’s Kilian counterpart right and the citrus notes. I like it, but I think it needs more time to sit too.
The Dua Brand Paris 1920
I was most looking forward to Paris 1920 becuse it’s inspired by one of my favorite fresh, aromatic, citrus scents…Byredo’s Bal d’Afrique. I’ve smelled Bal d’Afrique many times and sprayed it on my wrist twice. Both times it broke me out. I’m hoping that it was just something with that specific bottle interacting poorly on my skin, but I’m too afraid to try it again right now.
Paris 1920 smells 99% like the scent it’s inspired by. Right out the gate, it’s very aromatic and citrusy. It smells like late spring and hope. It has a slight woody note and a bit of floral notes. I’m greatly looking forward to it warming up here so I can start wearing this.
I think the bottles from The Dua Brand are cute but kind of small for the price and to be a dupe. Catch them on sale. I bought mine for 33% off.

Paris Corner Voux Elegante
Paris Corner’s Voux Elegante is inspired by Xerjoff Naxos. It smells amazing, but I’d say is about 70% similar to Naxos. Voux Elegante’s bottle mimics Naxo’s, so it’s clear what they’re trying to do here. It’s very sweet at the top. Vanilla hits me immediately. I also smell cinnamon, lavender, a fruity note, tobacco, and definitely a powdery wood. Naxos has all of those note, but it’s a much smoother ride.
Voux Elegante is still a wonderful fragrance that captures the vibe of Naxos, but I think I’ll opt for the real deal when I run low on Voux. If you want to smell wealthy, this one might be the one for you!

Zimaya Musk is Great
I’d had my eye on grabbing a bottle of Initio Musk Therapy, but I want my dollars to stretch on fragrances right now. Instead, I otped to get Zimaya Musk is Great. Though the bottle is insanely cute, I don’t think this one is for me. It’s very musky up front–it had better be since musk is in the name–then powdery and woody. There’s a green note in there that I’m not a fan of and that’s making me not like it.
I think it smells good, but I don’t think I’ll like it on me. I might have to try wearing this a few times to see if I change my mind about it. For now, it will sit on my husband’s shelf. He loves it.

Maison Alhambra Kismet for Women
I fell in love with Kilian Good Girl Gone Bad when I first tried it in a discovery set. It’s been on my wishlist ever since then, but I couldn’t bring myself to pay retail for it. Then I found Maison Alhambra Kismet for Women. The bottle is gorgeous and it’s so inexpensive! Plus, it smells spot on like it’s Kilian inspiration.
It smells like spring and summer! It’s a floral, powdery scent that least with white florals (jasmine maybe?) and has a few fruity notes in it too. I also smell lactones and some amber. I love this scent so much! I can hardly wait for it to warm up so I can wear this all the time. It’s a more complicated and mature scent that turns heads.
For now, I’m looking to build out my collection pretty quickly since I don’t currently have a lot of options. This means I’m not looking to splurge on a single scent for a while. For now, I’m building my collection of bigger bottles of scents I know I like, and then I’ll move on to discovery sets from fragrance houses that have piqued my interest. I want to smell a lot of scents and I’m looking forward to having many, many fragrances to choose from each day.
If you’re interested in seeing what scents I wear every day, I mention them in my weekly newsletter. Plus, I’ll be making more YouTube videos, talking about my fragrance collection, and smelling new things.
